40TUDE SUP Marathon Curing Colon Cancer
The fifth 2017 40TUDE London SUP Marathon was another great success on Saturday, June 10, 2017. More than 50 paddlers braved blustery winds and scorching summer sunshine while completing the full marathon distance of 26 miles from Shepperton to Putney on the River Thames.
By the end of June 2017, the particants' efforts had helped to raise a wonderful £20,000 to raise awareness of colon cancer. In the five years, the 40TUDE London SUP Marathon has raised more than £200,000 for St Marks Hospital Trus to progress its pioneering work on curing colon cancer. Congratulations to all the dedicated paddlers, especially many who have returned to take part year on year. We are proud to be helping in the organisation of this fun but challenging event.
For the first time in 2017, we added an extra challenge. As if completing 26 miles was not enough, a few of the paddlers gamely gave some 4-person SUP Dragon boards a go for the last leg of the marathon, making the challenge of paddling as a team look easy by their arrival at the finish in Putney.

In 2018, the event will be by invitation only. Please get in touch with us by email, if you're a TSK 1 trained, experienced paddler, looking to help marshal the marathon.
