Estate agents Hamptons International help clean up Paddington Canal
15 staff members from the Paddington branch of international estate agents Hamptons help to clear rubbish from the Grand Union Canal in Paddington, west London.
On the 9th July the team from Hamptons international donned their wet suites and got down to business clearing litter out of the canal with Active 360 and the Canal and Riverside Trust. Despite rampant duck weed sometimes hampering efforts. They managed to fill over 15 bag with rubbish that is mainly made up of plastic bottle and packaging.
After the litter pick up the 15 strong team took part in a fun paddleboard relay race with Active 360, people did get very wet – but then that is half the fun.
Hampton’s International has two well established offices in Paddington and have been working in the area for over 11 years. Having a clean litter free canal is not only good for the environment it’s also good for business.
‘We are always looking for ways to give something back to our residents and work actively to improve the appearance of our areas,’ said a Hamptons International spokesperson
Plastic litter is a big issue for the Canal and River Trust and over £1million is spent of keeping the canals clean in the UK and half of that is spent in London.
