Fed up of dragging yourself along to boring gym sessions? Would you like to experience London's greatest natural open space, the River Thames? Well, SUP, that's stand-up paddle boarding, might be just the thing for you. Not only a way to keep fit and meet new people, but also an enjoyable way to see the city from an entirely new perspective.
What is SUP?
SUP is somewhat easier to master than other watersports, but still provides a full-body workout in a fun and relaxed way in the outdoors. These are just some of the reasons it is becoming London's watersport of choice. Standing on something bearing resemblance to a surfboard, but much bigger (so harder to fall off!), you balance and propel yourself along with a paddle.
SUP has been steadily growing in popularity and although it originated on the sunny shores of Hawaii, it has now become a trendy London watersport. If you are new to the sport, then why not join a group lesson or have a private lesson with one of our experienced London watersport coaches? Once you have perfected those skills, you can join our trips, hire our equipment to explore London or travel further afield with one of our carefully organised trips.
SUP and the environment
Marine environments around the world are threatened and being damaged by pollution including plastic pollution. We are actively trying to change this by local campaigns and events, which engage individuals, organisations and the government to make necessary changes. We are taking this a stage further by seeking out partners and suppliers, who are also taking action on the environment. Also we will only take part in events where plans are in place to ensure minimal adverse environmental effect. Please join us in this movement and make a difference.
Is SUP for me?
SUP has no age limit and if you're looking to try a new watersport in London, this has the perfect combination of adventure, exercise and relaxation. If you have experienced any joint injuries, SUP is often recommended by physio therapists and other health practitioners for quicker recovery. If strength and core stability is your thing, then try SUP yoga or SUP pilates. Essentially a yoga or pilates class on the water!
Our experienced team also cater for groups including organised birthday, hen and stag parties as well as corporate team days. What better way to get know your colleagues better than seeing some of London's iconic sights from the water? So, whether you are a child or adult, come and join us on a SUP adventure. Our locations include Kew Bridge, Paddington Basin, Putney and Brentford Lock.
Please be advised that smoking is not permitted at any of our locations.
